How lovely this looks! What did you read during your holiday?

which sailboat is saskia on?

Did you literally leave your heart in San Fransico?

Selfishly I'm glad you're back Martina. Welcome home.

Dear Martina,

Your blog is one of my favorites. As a medical student in the states, I love hearing how is it possible to manage a medical practice with family.

I know your blog has a dedicated readership and I was wondering if you could help me out. My fiance and I are finalists for a free wedding at www.thenotwedding.blogspot.com and we would love some voting support for Kirby and David. It takes about 1 minute to type in the page and vote. Unfortunately, I can't campaign like many of the other contestants, and it's showing in the polls.

Thanks for your help, best of luck settling back into your 'real' life.

Looks heavenly:)

@Tessa: Finished 'The Element of Lavishness' (letters between Wm Maxwell and Sylvia Townsend Warner), 'The Kite Runner', 'Artist to Artist: 23 Major Illustrators Talk to Children about Their Art', 'Influential Gardeners', some of Atwood's 'Why Poetry?' and started Steinbeck's 'Grapes of Wrath'.

I always plan to review the books I read but usually launch right into the next one.

@slydi: Saskia was actually parasailing but moved out of the frame of the photo just as I took the picture.

@Kirby and David: As a rule I don't do promotional blog posts . . . but you will likely get some traffic from your comment alone. Good luck!

Look like pure bliss!! Ohhh summer...where art thou???

that reminds me---how are saskia's skydiving lessons coming along?

btw, i really do love that sailboat pic. that's another one i'd love to see framed somewhere.

sounds (and looks like) you had a wonderful trip! : )

Yes, it is wonderful to go away but I find that I appreciate my home more when I have been away for awhile.

There's something about seeing beach pictures when we are having some cold weather that just makes me want summer to come NOW! Great pictures.

I can understand the "reluctantly" - looks like a great vacation spot for the family.
