I came across these white ceramic birdballs by Garden Boutique (via the Heavy Petal West Coast gardening blog) the other day.

My first thought was that I loved the aesthetic, and that these would look splendid strung from the stand of cedars by our front door. My second thought was that the modern, minimalist look seemed an unnatural choice for a product intended for wildlife, compared to traditional birdhouses. And my third thought was that maybe the typical rustic chalet-style shingled birdhouse with balconies and shutters isn't all that natural, either.
